Ever dream of becoming a pilot? Well now is your chance! Enter our contest to win private pilot training courses. See below for details:

If you are a student between the ages of 12-18 living in the North Carolina, Cape Fear region or southern New Jersey, who has dreamed of becoming a pilot, we invite you to participate in our digital video contest. The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation has partnered with Jeppesen, to offer 4 (four) private pilot online training courses to selected winners of our contest.

To enter:
Submit a video and tell us, why you want to be a pilot, why you should be awarded this training opportunity and how you plan to further your future in aviation.

In order to enter this contest:
• You must be between the ages of 12-18 by October 31, 2016
• You must be a United States citizen or resident alien who is residing in New Jersey or in North Carolina* (see below for specific regions). Participant must be able to verify status.
• You must not have been charged or convicted of any misdemeanors or felonies.
• You must be able to read, write, and speak English to FAA standards.
• You must have access to a personal computer.
• You must be willing to share your video on any or all social media, website and promotional materials.

Digital videos must be submitted to [email protected] no later than December 13, 2016 @12:00 AM, EST. We reserve the right to edit your submission into our promotional public service announcement. Entrants grant The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation the right to use their names, digital videos for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.

Jeppesen specializes in flight training and aviation services providing the best in aviation training materials. This online training course meets the ground instruction requirements and curricula needed to complete the FAA private pilot written exam. The course represents a value of $239 per course. Two courses will be awarded in southern New Jersey and two in the Cape Fear region, North Carolina as we give back to our local communities who support and attend events provided by the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation.

*New Jersey – Burlington County; North Carolina – New Hanover County, Pender County

Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification. No copyrighted materials i.e. music is permitted. No substitutions of any kind will be permitted. No other compensation will be awarded in lieu of the course. If chosen as a winner, you must submit a signed parent permission form.

Winners agree to hold The Leroy W. Homer Jr. Foundation harmless against any and all claims and liability upon the award of the course. Winner(s) assume all liability for any injury or damage caused from participation in the contest and redemption of the prize. Entrants agreed to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges. The judges’ decision is final.

Eligibility: The Contest is FREE to enter and open to all individuals who are legal residents of the Region(s) specified, and have reached the age of at least 12 and no older than 18 by October 31, 2016. The officers and directors of the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee, officer and director are not eligible to participate in the contest. Participants must have their parent/legal guardian permission to enter this contest, unless they are 18 years of age.

By entering this Contest, you agree that:

1.The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right to use all or a part of your entry, your name, and the names, likenesses, photographs, voices and images of all persons appearing in the entry.
2. You agree that you will not now nor in the future be paid for your entry or for granting the LeRoy W. Homer Jr Foundation any of the rights set out in these rules.

No substitution of a prize will be made unless the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation, in its sole discretion, determines otherwise.
All decisions made by the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation will be final. All materials submitted will become the property of the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation and will not be returned.
